We need to unlock it to test touch across the whole screen after a digitiser replacement.
If the screen is lifting away from the frame, power it down and bring it in. Do not keep charging it and do not press the back flat.
Only if the fault involves them — a Smart Connector or pencil pairing problem cannot be tested without the accessory.

Usually, yes. A new screen is a fraction of a replacement iPad, and the rest of the device is typically fine. If your model is old enough that the price approaches its resale value we will tell you plainly.
Worth doing sooner rather than later. Cracked glass lets dust and moisture into the digitiser, and corner cracks spread every time the tablet flexes — what is a glass-only job today can become a full display job later.
Yes, that is a swollen battery and it is the one fault we would ask you to bring in promptly. Stop charging it in the meantime.
We do, but parts are not always economically available for budget models. We will check before you leave it, and tell you if the work costs more than the tablet is worth.
Most tablets are done same day. Screen adhesive sometimes needs to cure overnight for a proper seal, in which case it is ready the next morning.
No. Screen, battery and port work does not touch storage. Back up first anyway if the tablet is already misbehaving.
