Common jobs
This is board-level work done with a microscope and hot air, not part swaps. It is the reason a console most shops turn away is usually fixable here. Four days is the standard turnaround, and expedited options are available — ask when you drop it off.
The most common console fault there is, and almost always caused by the cable being knocked while plugged in. The port is desoldered and a new one fitted — the console itself is generally fine underneath.
Discs that will not load, eject on their own, or grind. Sometimes the laser, sometimes the gears, sometimes a disc that was inserted while another was already in there.
A console that shuts down mid-game is nearly always thermal. Full strip, dust removal, new thermal paste and pads. This is also the one bit of maintenance worth doing before anything actually breaks.
Power supply, board fault, or the console stuck in a protection state. We diagnose which before quoting, because the three are very different jobs.

We need to power the console to test it, and PlayStation and Xbox cables are not the same. Bring the HDMI cable too if the fault is video.
Do not force a jammed disc out. Pulling on it can break the gears and turn a straightforward job into a drive replacement.
If it is overheating and shutting down, leave it off until we see it. Repeated thermal shutdowns do real damage to the board.

It depends on the console and whether the board was damaged when the port was knocked. We diagnose it first and quote before any work — but it is almost always a fraction of replacing the console.
Try a different HDMI cable and a different port on the TV first — that rules out the cheap causes in two minutes. If it is still blank the port on the console is the usual culprit, and that is fixable rather than a write-off.
